Forest of Avon Trust
The Forest of Avon has recently established a company called the Forest of Avon Trust. This is the first step in the company achieving status as a Charitable Trust later in the year, which will enable the Forest of Avon to access new resources to improve the environment of the area.
The Forest of Avon Trust will work alongside the Forest of Avon Partnership and will enable it to -
- Establish a Friends/ Supporters Scheme;
- Manage funding appeals to purchase key sites;
- Access charitable sector grant applications; and
- Attract funding to the Forest of Avon’s newly launched climate change awareness and action scheme- Climate Active.
Jon Clark, Director of the Forest of Avon, said;
‘I am really pleased that we have secured company status, the next step is to find some more Trustees to help create and manage the new organisation and develop these exciting programmes of work.’
Trustees Needed
The Forest of Avon is now looking for committed individuals with the skills and enthusiasm to help secure charitable status for the Forest of Avon Trust and to work in partnership to oversee the development of these new areas of work.
If you can spare a day per quarter to prepare and attend meetings and are also able to find a modest amount of time to use your skills in support of the Forest of Avon, then we would really like to hear from you.

- Media (linked to the natural environment)
- Local environmental/ environmentally responsible business
- Corporate business with a CSR focus on sustainability/ community action
