The Forest of Avon Trust

Background

The Forest of Avon Trust is an independent charitable company limited by guarantee, established in January 2008. It is based at Ashton Court and works for the local area.

Main Work Areas:

  • Providing free trees to support action by schools and communities; 
  • Promoting and delivering the Garden Forest: extending trees through the urban area;
  • Dedicating trees to support the establishment of community woodlands;
  • Improving the wellbeing of people with mental health needs through Natural Connections with woodlands; 
  • Delivering Wood School: engaging all ages and abilities in their local woodlands;
  • Championing the benefits of trees locally;  
  • Providing technical advice on woodland,planning, planting and establishment; and
  • Providing a means through which individuals and businesses can express their commitment to the local environment.   .

The Trust works across the West of England sub-region, formerly known as Avon.
