Forest Education Initiative

The Forest of Avon coordinates the Bristol and West Cluster Group of FEI. This  group provides a forum for local forest education practitioners, teachers and members of the timber industry to meet together quarterly in order to work together to deliver forest education projects and training which increase  awareness and understanding of forestry and woodlands.

The Forest Education Initiative is a partnership between the Forestry Commission, Tree Council, Timber Trade Federation, Woodland Trust and Forestry Industry Development Council.

A Partnership Fund provides matching funding for FEI cluster groups and member organisations. This fund can support applications of up to £10,000.

The Bristol and West cluster group recently secured funding and delivered a very succesful forest education training programme for practitioners during 2007-8 and a 'Forest Festival' in the summer of 2008. A new programme has been set for 2008-9.
