Jubilee Stone Wood

Jubilee Stone Wood is a small woodland in the Forest of Avon which provides a short all-ability trail allowing access for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The trail leads to the Jubilee Stone where you can enjoy great views of the valley below and the hills of South Wales beyond in peaceful surroundings. More able walkers wishing to go further can follow the circular route across Backwell Hill, about 1.5 miles - see map. Bourton Combe, 0.5 miles to the east provides additional walking and cycling on good trails in pleasant woodlands.

Getting There

Jubilee Stone Wood is on the south side of the A370 at Backwell, about 7 miles south-west of Bristol. The woodland can be accessed via footpaths from Church Town but the all-ability trail begins at the south end of the site where there is a small disabled car park (phone Bill Charnock on 01275 462 083 for the combination lock number). Other members of the public should park sensitively on the nearby roads.

Get Involved
